Watch the video:
Freddie Flintoff is a 'local lad' and has had a long relationship with Wrightington. Before opening the Patient's Journey he toured the exhibit and showed great interest in the work being done at Wrightington. He then presented a signed England shirt and bat to join the other memorabilia in the centre's sports medicine section. Short speeches were then made by Brian Strett, Chairman of Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust, and by Lady Charnley on behalf of the John Charnley Trust. Following this, Freddie Flintoff revealed the plaque and declared the Patient's Journey officially open.
